Since I was young, I've loved crafts of all kinds. The act of creating something gives me incredible joy. As a believer, I
know that this is one way I was made in God's image, the great Creator of all!
My middle name, Grace, has reminded me through the years that I am given so much I don't deserve. When deciding on a name
for the American Girl branch of my business, I was impressed with a story and a verse.
The Grace of my imagination is an active girl, busy with everything that distracts kids in today's world. But as she spends
time with her Mimi, she learns the joy of creation: experiencing crafts and hobbies where she can craft beautiful things.
Her grandma Mimi is generous, making her beautiful sweaters and outfits (gifts for Grace), Grace is developing her own talents
(her gifts), and Grace uses her new skills to make gifts for others.
"Grace's Gifts" is a play on all those things, but it really comes down to this Bible verse: "For it is by grace you have
been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God!" Ephesians 2:8.
